Context
Role & Responsibilities
As a Senior Product Designer, I was responsible for driving end-to-end design ownership across multiple products and pods, while also contributing to the growth of design as a function.
Role & Responsibilities
Over time, my responsibilities expanded beyond execution into design leadership, focusing on system thinking, team enablement, and creating consistency across a complex product ecosystem.
Product & Design Contributions
1. Data-Driven Dashboard Design
A significant part of my work involved designing analytics dashboards that translated complex healthcare data into intuitive, decision-oriented experiences.
Launch Excellence Report
Designed to track drug performance during launch phases, focusing on prescription trends, patient adoption, HCP engagement, and geographic and channel-level performance, along with time-to-adoption insights.
Payer Insights Report
Focused on understanding how insurance coverage and payer decisions influence drug access, incorporating coverage status, formulary positioning, authorization requirements, cost structures, and their impact on prescription behavior.
Patient Experience Report
Mapped the end-to-end patient journey, highlighting enrollment, therapy initiation timelines, transitions across stages, adherence, persistency, refill behavior, and support service utilization.
Health Map Report (Media Impact)
Designed to evaluate marketing effectiveness through healthcare provider engagement, patient conversion metrics, campaign reach, attribution models, and geographic performance visualization.
HIV Market Report
Provided a comprehensive view of the treatment landscape, including patient distribution, therapy segmentation, regimen analysis, brand share, switching patterns, adherence trends, and identification of high-need segments.
Across all dashboards, the focus remained on clarity, usability, and enabling faster, data-backed decision-making.
2. Product Thinking & UX Enhancements
In addition to dashboards, I contributed to broader product initiatives and experience improvements, including:
Designing product landing pages and scorecard dashboards
Supporting
vaccine-related and quality assurance dashboards
Improving interaction design to enhance usability and engagement
3. Design Governance & Standardization
To bring consistency across multiple products, I developed a design guidelines framework that established clear standards and checklists for using layouts, components, and templates from the design system. In parallel, I defined structured ways of working, outlining when and how design should be integrated into project workflows.
This framework served as a foundation for:
Maintaining consistency across dashboards and teams
Enabling scalable and reusable design solutions
Aligning design decisions with platform capabilities and constraints
Standardized Wireframe Templates
Developed reusable wireframe templates within the design system to help teams structure ideas early and accelerate the transition from ideation to development.
Design System Adoption & Figma Training
Trained internal teams on Figma and design guidelines to enable consistent and scalable implementation across projects.
Stakeholder Enablement & Workflow Alignment
Coached client-side stakeholders, specialists, and cross-functional teams through hands-on sessions and continuous collaboration, improving design system adoption, cross-team alignment, and the overall idea-to-development workflow.
4. Adoption & Communication Design
To support adoption and usability at scale, I extended design beyond core product interfaces into communication and enablement.
Developing video-based content to improve product understanding and onboarding
These efforts ensured that design contributed not only to product usability but also to how products were communicated and adopted across teams.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Alignment
This role required working across both internal teams and client-side stakeholders, balancing product delivery, design quality, and alignment.
Client Side:
I was directly aligned with a UI/UX lead and collaborated closely on design direction
Several initiatives were driven directly by client stakeholders, requiring active involvement in discussions, design decisions, and feedback cycles
End users included a wide range of teams, making usability, clarity, and feasibility critical
Internal Side:
I worked closely with visualization pods responsible for building the products
Collaborated with developers to ensure feasibility within platform constraints
Enabled teams by sharing design knowledge, frameworks, and templates
Regularly communicated progress and design direction within the organization
This dual collaboration required not only execution but also continuous alignment, knowledge sharing, and the ability to bridge business needs with technical feasibility.
Reflection
This experience strengthened my ability to design within complex, diverse environments while contributing to the growth of design as a function.
Build consistency through system thinking and standardization
Enable cross-functional teams through design education and structured workflows
It also reinforced the importance of design governance and early-stage structuring in improving speed, consistency, and overall product quality.
Overall, it reinforced an important perspective—effective product design goes beyond interfaces to include systems, collaboration, and the ability to create clarity within complex ecosystems.
